There are still schools who are unable to accommodate disable children and teachers who are unable to train those learners. This goes against our own constitution that provides for all South African disable or not.We find out how much our country has done in recognising the rights of the disabled and physically challenged.

Constitutional rights of people with disability include both socio economic and political rights, including a right before the law, right to dignity and a right to life etc.

Many of the most basic rights of people with mental disabilities were not—and still are not—recognized under law.In my conversation with some people with disability, they seem to be emphasizing that community don’t understand them; they don’t know or relate with their emotions which they are going through on a daily bases, unless they are a family member.Others told me that there are instances where sometimes people with disabilities are hidden away because the families are ashamed of them.

It's a pity that even in post apartheid South Africa people with disabilities or the physically challenged still suffer from discrimination from their own communities, families and friends.

I think with the current state of affairs in South Africa we should not be surprised if most of the provinces have a high percentage of people living with disabilities. Not all if some of the South Africans care to give aid to those who are affected by disabilities and it's a shame. Tebogo I am with you on helping out.
